Gather the staff together each day to pray for a few minutes before the children arrive.
VBS programs should be Catholic and highlight different aspects of our Catholic Faith.
Crafts and snacks, when possible should tie into the Catholic theme of the day.
The celebration of the Eucharist is recommended. Some parishes have Mass daily and some just for the close of the VBS, with parents attending.
Eucharistic Adoration may be a part of each day, or at the close of the VBS.
To reinforce stewardship, parishes may ask children to bring in canned food items for the less fortunate.
Some parishes ask religious sisters or brothers to lead their VBS program. Presenters must be cleared through the Vicar General's Office, using the Diocesan Outside Speaker Form. Please allow time for this to be processed.
Reminders:
All VBS catechists and volunteers must be protocol trained and background checked before the start of VBS.
All catechists must be practicing Catholics. (National Directory of Catechesis, 55E)
